My wife is usually very easy to shop for. She likes a lot of different things - books, movies, games, clothing, shoes, perfume...hell, she'd even be excited to get cleaning products (she may be the only woman in the world who was genuinely excited, rather than insulted, to get a new vaccuum for Christmas one year). But this year, I ran into a bit of a stumbling block. Many of those fallbacks I'd normally resort to, she already has.
I spent quite a bit of time wracking my brain, trying to figure out just what to get. Got clothing? Check. Got boots? Check. Then it dawned on me...it's winter. Those Uggs won't last long in the rain and snow. So, it was off to see if I could find some rain boots. Now, I'm not talking big yellow construction site rain boots, or big black galoshes (heh, I love that word), but stylish, waterproof boots. Heck, before this idea hit me, I didn't even know a company like Burberry made rain boots. Yet, now I'm going to be a hero when she opens a pair of checked, or striped boots, or ankle rain shoes (yeah, I'm the brilliant guy who came up with a great idea, and can't for the life of me make a decision on WHICH ones to get!). Any suggestions would be appreciated! By the way, as you look through the page to help me figure it out, is there anybody else who is eerily reminded of the Leg Lamp in "A Christmas Story"? Or is it just me?
Either way, I found this Christmas to be a little more difficult than most. I wanted to get things JUST right. Only a couple of days left to find out if I hit the mark or not. Is Christmas supposed to be this nerve-wracking? What happened to, "Hey Honey, here's a cheese log. Merry Christmas!"
Ok, so maybe a cheese log was never really an acceptable gift...
