Well, if you live in the Northeast today, the blustery weather reminds you that it's time to have a nice warm jacket on when you leave the house. To be clear,I mean the reasonable northeast, like New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware...not the Siberian Northeast like Massachusetts and Maine, or even Buffalo which, while I know it's technically New York, might as well be Canada. The Siberian Northeast has probably been painfully aware of this outerwear need since, oh, about the week after Labor Day.
It's not all bad. I love the changing of the seasons. The cold, windy weather helps me appreciate the spring and summer when we can shed our coats and bask in the sun's warmth. Hmmm, kind of sounds like I molt.
I don't molt.
Often.
So, I mention all this because, of course, I was not prepared this morning. Sure I had a coat, but it was wide open and the wind basically sliced through the meager sweater, t-shirt, and jeans I was wearing to make all my bits and pieces downright frigid.
But, lo and behold, I just got a new car which came equipped with....HEATED SEATS.
Okay, next to a nice warm coat to keep your bits and pieces (I like that phrase) warm in the first place, there is NOTHING better than heated seats. Seriously, heated seats people!
No longer will I dread sitting down and waiting for my body heat to thaw the frozen tundra that is my car's leather seats. No, now, technology will do it for me.
See, because my car was a leftover 2010 that wasn't sold, I was able to get a great deal on a limited edition that has every upgrade known to man. In dash, GPS, backup camera, Sirius satellite radio, power moonroof, HEATED SEATS (did I mention that?), harddrive that stores 2500 songs, USB and iPod ports, mood lighting with 7 different colors, chrome wheels, keyless entry, SYNC voice activation (the car reads my text messages to me and allows me to control my music, phone, and GPS by voice), travel assistant that gets me movie times, traffic reports, and weather, HEATED SEATS, and on and on. Oh, and the car parallel parks itself! Yup. Tried it yesterday. Parallel parks itself. It tells me when it's driven alongside a spot it can fit into, then tells me where to go so it can park itself. Now, I happen to be a good parallel parker but this was too cool to pass up.
Can you tell I'm excited?
Either way, the fact is, I'll never fear the cold seats again, but if you're not me, it doesn't hurt to have a nice warm coat either.
Heated seats. What could be better than...
Oh.
Just found out my brother in law has air conditioned seats for the summer.
I'm SO behind the times.
